Visiting Artist Lecture – Diana Nawi


Curator Diana Nawi will present a lecture in the Visiting Artist series this Friday, November 2nd beginning at 5:40 p.m. Diana Nawi is an independent curator based in Los Angeles. Most recently, she has organized "Adler Guerrier: Conditions and Forms for black Longevity" at the California African American Museum. She previously served as Associate Curator at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for five years, where she curated major exhibitions and organized newly commissioned projects. Prior to joining PAMM, Nawi worked as an assistant curator on the Abu Dhabi Project of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and served as a fellow at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Nawi will serve as the co-Artist Director (alongside Naima J. Keith) of Prospect.5 in New Orleans in 2020.

The Visiting Artist Lecture Series is organized by the Rutgers MFA program and includes weekly lectures, studio visits and critiques by luminaries working across a wide spectrum of mediums.
